Event Date & Time
Event Description
Offering land acknowledgements is an important part of our work at UBC as we make consistent efforts to centre Indigenous knowledges and perspectives. As part of CTLT’s Online Teaching Program you may have had the opportunity to participate in Indigenous Initiatives’ Virtual Land Acknowledgements at UBC workshop. Beginning this February, you can now take this training asynchronously, both engaging in the reflective and relational practice of developing an acknowledgement and also developing a plan for further learning through a robust selection of resources.
Join us for this session as the facilitation team of the Virtual Land Acknowledgements at UBC workshop walk learners through the new online learning tool, and reflect as a team on the process behind its development.
Note: this session is not dedicated to discussing land acknowledgements themselves, but the development of the training tool.
Panelists:
- Bronte Burnette, Educational Resource Developer, CTLT Indigenous Initiatives
- Claudia Diaz (Ph.D.), Educational Consultant, CTLT Indigenous Initiatives
- Ola Kulesza, Instructional Designer and Project Manager, HR Workplace Learning & Engagement
